What have you done to your rig today?

Finally decided to throw the wallet at the old Toyota, ordered the new fuel cell for it, the Artex hold down system, and some new turn signals.
Amazon is a dangerous place!
Maybe the weather will break and I can get something done.

Finally looks like it's supposed to again. Now I have to decide whether I'm going to sell it or not.

Today I stored birfs and rotors from an FJ80 I'm regearing in the bed of my Ranger. I then piled the wheels and tires from JK I'm regearing in front of it. On the hood is a driveshaft I'm installing into a JK tomorrow.
Then I leaned against the rocker and ate a sammich between them.

Here’s my carburetor on Friday night.

Literally hasn’t been touched since. I was going to finish it Saturday, but a buddy texted me at 630 that morning about cars and coffee, while at cars and coffee another buddy texted about brewing some beer starting at 11. While there my mother in law picked the kids up so the wife and I went out like we were 21 again. Today was a day of “rest”......
Maybe I’ll finish it after work one day this week

Installed my Extended brake lines, bled brakes, drained front diff fluid. Gotta replace the front axle seals again!

Surfed eBay for shit I don't need yet... then started compiling a mental list of things in the garage I don't need anymore to post up on eBay when I work the motivation up to sell them to pay for my next round of "needed" parts purchases.

Bought a RE track bar and drop bracket. Halfway installed the bracket, then realized my brother still has my floor jack. I guess I’ll finish it tomorrow when I can get the wheel off.

Got the carb wrapped up. It’s about as tuned as I can get it while it’s not drivable.

Orange150 on Instagram: “Ok, had to hook the exhaust back up. • • • #ford #mustang #fordmustang #vintagemustang #65mustang #mustanglife #mustangporn #projectcar…”

I guess the hyperlinked captions speak for themselves.

I'm at a bit of a crossroads with it now. The only parts I have hoarded from 2013 are the master cylinder for the CSRP brakes I bought back then, after that it needs a full alignment and new heads, both things that cost money.
I've been so tight with money lately that I haven't even taken the time to have my new wheels put on the Jeep.
The logical side of my brain is telling me that I have almost two year old twins and have absolutely no business owning TWO toy cars, but the gear head side of my brain is telling the logical side to go pound sand and to wait for more free time and money.

Decided to cycle the trans through the gears while I had the mustang still on jack stands and heard a nasty noise that definitely wasn’t there when I drove it last

Time to go pull this apart.. again.

Pulled the trans apart this afternoon. Everything looked good inside and there wasn't any crazy play on any of the shafts.

Any other ideas as to what would make a noise when it's in gear that it wasn't doing before it sat for so long? Clutch and everything looks good. I'm going to stab it back in and run it without the driveshaft in just to see.
Again, in neutral no noise or anything, in gear it makes a clunking noise

I machined some block-off plates to put on my carburetor in place of the bowls and metering blocks to turn it into a throttle body. But I'm that lazy ass that didn't take any pics yet... perhaps when I order the correct bolts to put them on the main body.

Decided to make a little investment in longevity for the tow rig. Topped it off with some Amsoil Severe Duty gear oil. This truck needs to move both kids in and out of college. Then move them into their first house. They’re 7 and 10 by the way. Many a mile to go.
