As you can see there is a significant elevation difference so we decided to rent a skid steer. Wife wanted to run it.

And then this. Thank God she likes rustic stuff

And then stone was delivered. 5 yards of #78 stone. Spread by hand

There is a french drain for the roof and a drain off the house gutter that flows behind the wall. After getting this graded out, we had a hell of a rain storm and it all flowed downhill and didn't pond at all . We also cleared out a LOT of our property. We are on just under an acre and had a smallish backyard. Now its a lot bigger.

Future plans will be a nice fire pit, some furniture, and a grill.....but its also really nice parking for future projects :smokin:

Still need to finish filling behind the wall and finish up the drainage ends etc.

Didn't hit any utilities, nobody got hurt and everything went together nicely. About 4 weekends in total or so. Now if my Willys build would go this smooth...

I carried off 1500 pounds of trash Saturday from my shop. Haven't finished loading the scrap metal yet, and the price is too depressing to be in a hurry lol.

Duane
I know, it is almost cheaper to just take it to the dump rather than to drive to the scrapyard. At least diesel is cheap now.

Seriously. I've probably got 15,000lbs of scrap steel and equipment that needs to be hauled off, but the price sucks big time right now. Had 2 freaking forklifts scrapped a while back and got next to nothing for them. I'll keep piling it up until it gets better.

Needs some tweaking like they all do, but she’s super clean and sounds super pissed off. The interior is great. First order of business is a T5 swap. It was an original 5 speed car. Pedals are still there. It’s got a reverse manual valve body C4 at the moment. Not a fan of the manual and no overdrive.
I'd be interested in that C4 if I could put a 4we tail shaft on it?

I’ll see if I can dig up some info on the fit. I’ll sell everything with it. Flex plate, TC (2500 stall I believe), TCI outlaw shifter if you want it all. You can have the C4 yoke as well. It’s a 28 spline output shaft.

More work on "down-town"

Had to move my fence to make room for the RVport last fall. Moved the RV round front, hung some plastic to catch the overspray, and went to town...

2 hours later, brand new shiny!

This afternoon I decided to fix the old man’s trailer. He’s been fumbling with these stupid pins to hold his gates up. At least twice the vibration kicked out the small pin, pushed out the big pin, and down goes a gate. Here’s the old & busted...

Haven’t struck an arc in probably a year so don’t make fun. Here’s the new hotness!

Work has been slow. First inside fixture was a work bench. 10' long, 3/4 plywood with steel on top, have same in my small shop, and it worked really well. You can beat on it if need be and don't dent.
The 2X's were free, and plywood was almost 2 1/2 sheets, so around $30, and that steel was given to me about 20 years ago, also free. Had to wire brush it, and I painted it. I know the paint isn't gonna last, but, at least one time, it looks decent.
Next to come will be some shelves.

You must not be using a big enough hammer. My shop table top is 1/4" plate and it's bent all to hell. I've got a big piece of channel I clamp stuff to to weld if I want it all to come out flat

Do you have plywood under the plate?

Some dump trucks use the same concept, plywood underneath the floor to not need as thick of a piece of steel.

Yes, it has 3/4 plywood under the plate. I drilled holes all around beveled the holes so all my screws are counter sunk.
That question was for awheelterd. I saw where you mentioned it.

I have a work table with 3/4 plywood top only, and it does well for most things, but I don't weld on it.

No its on a 4'x8' pallet with legs. The pallet is actually a skid some equipment came on that we bolted legs to and put a piece of.of plate on. It was meant to be temporary 10yrs ago

Been doing lots of yard work and needed to lift my container to get it level. It sucked doing it but it worked
