Wow he was lucky

Buddy of mine did that when we were clearing up after hurricane Floyd. Had a pine log loaded on bolt-on forks attached to the loader bucket. Had it lifted high, and thought it would fit between two trees. It didn't. He was luckier, stopped between loader arms and steering wheel. We quit for the day.

Wtf is that on the front end?
I can't imagine being beside and slightly ahead or behind this thing on a 2 lane turn.
 
But, the more I think about it the more I want to see more in person. So many questions.

We met this gentleman and saw his rig in a parking lot in central Florida in November. He made it himself mainly out of aluminum check-plate. Real King sized bed at one end, and covered porch at the other. If I recall correctly, he is from the Seattle area. Made our complete renovation of an ’87 Argosy project look like childs play by comparison.
