What have you done to your rig today?

What happens when you don't torque your bolts down :(

You get a ride home after tire and wheel fall off. Luckily no damage

I took the day and tried to stay busy. We lost one of our pups and the best thing I knew to do was keep busy and take my mind off of it. So...

I installed a new heim on my double ended steering set up where the insert shit out. Rotated the passenger tires and retightened the wheel spacers on the rear. I then welded on the rear bumper that got ripped off last time out. Cut and shortened the passenger slider where my tire was hitting it. Welded on some decorative pieces I cut out last week. Don't judge me. Hopefully, you'll be able to tell it's a Cherokee now. I've always wanted to put the indian emblems back on but just got busy with other necessary stuff. Welded a rear support for the back off the Jeep where the truck box is. Touched up the paint in a couple spots on the cage where it was rusting.

Then I took off into the backyard (woods) for a little shake down. I forgot to check the air pressure when I rotated the tires (the rear I run lower). Ended up burping a bead up front and had to hike back to the house for my air hose :shaking: Got it pumped back up and took the boy for his first "trail" ride. Then we hit the street in the neighborhood. He likes to drive :driver:

Did that once. Except I pulled a lug from each of the 4 other wheels and the spare and drove it home.

disappointed i thought you had someone water jet the logo
Dude, that's the original emblem from the original vehicle. I'd rather have that any day over some water jet horseshit. Placement matters too. Different years moved the location. That is the proper location for that year so suck me beautiful.

Got the propane filled and put two tanks in the pile. Tried working on my radio issue but looks like it'll have to wait till I get back. Today I'll load the tools and other gear so I can roll out Friday morning.

Don't forget the bolts

So in the last 2 days Ive ran into to folks from here in the real world and both asked "Why havent you posted any car pics in the what have you done today thread lately"
Well...at the detail stage where there arent huge obvious visual changes but getting mighty close.

Super envious Ron! Wish I could have kept mine, just wasn't in the cards at this stage of my life.

Man....Had a therapy session on Friday.
No couches, no air conditioning, no talking. Just 500hp, screaming pipes, and wind. Had to add at least 2 years to my life.

Did a bunch of shake down runs over the weekend. Full of fuel and after settle-in the rear tires are getting into the fender lip bad. Going to need a different spring rate there. Already on the hunt.
T minus 5 days and counting...

Installed a set of @Barnes 4wd sliders. They are beefy and should be able to take a beating.

It’s noon and I need a beer. Anyone who’s messed with a power window in the back of a k5 I’m sure can understand. But hopefully I’ll have it working again. Still gotta fix the inside tailgate handle. One of the rods came loose and folded up the factory channel for the window.
