It's a 74 cj5 and I got it from Chip here on the board. Probably keep it mostly stock. Maybe a mild lift and some stretch.

Thanks Chip!

Wow, that looks like a project! Still got the ZJ?

Yep, still have the ZJ. The D-ring wasn't part of the deal. :D

Got it in the garage...

I got some stock widetrack cj axles from cjwayne.

I'll keep yours in mind if these don't work out. How much did you want for them?

Started the stretch. Planning on about 100" wheel base.

Stretching the body about 20" and stretching the wheelbase about 17".

Did you say it's a '74? Looks like a '77 or newer based on the location of the wiper motor & a few other things.

Yeah it's got the newer style body on the older frame.

Another thing I noticed is that with the older frame it doesn't meet up good with the newer style body for some reason. It looks like I have a body lift on the back. Even before I stretched it it looked that way. Maybe I'll have to alter the frame some on the back to arch up to the body.

Cool stretch project! So what will the new wheelbase be? 100"? What tires you going to run on this Jeep? You going to install a rear seat and build a big cage in the back?

Thanks, the wheelbase will be at least 100" and may be up to 105". I think I'm going to run 32-35" MT tires. I did install a rear seat over the weekend and I'm sure I'll add to the cage in the future.

Should be a fun project. Next I am going to get some sheet metal from DH Griffin to build the back of the jeep and get some big angle iron for the sliders. And probably beef up the back side panels with some heavy sheet metal to create the new wheelwells. :D
