Buggy attempt #17...

Get your own hot girlfriends.
If you don't mind holding things and handing me things then sure, I might take you up on that offer. But there prolly won't be much fabrication to be done, as I have a hard enough time trying to figure it out myself much less trying to explain what I want done. And don't expect to learn anything. I'm not a very good teacher...i just point at things and yell and call people names when they're not doing it right...
Progress:
Trying to figure out steering setups...looks like the 2 SE rams might be the ticket if I can overcome the inherent problems...

Thats convenient because holding things, and handing things is about all I'm good at

Progress:
I changed my name to Indy Will because people kept asking me if I got their emails...will@rockbottom4x4 doesn't exist though...

I guess this post should read:

Progress:
None.

:poop: Done yet? Im wanting to ride next weekend.

So here's the ram setup...
anc4x4_com_forums_attachment_php_7d14e46a1c1c4bbf9b66be08c72c6cea._.jpg

Why not just attach the ram normally with clevises on the ends?...doing that would transfer wierd things into the steering geometry...the biggest problem being almost 2" of bump steer at full stuff/droop...

So what's to keep that ram body from spinning on the shaft?...This, that's what.

Got a tube clamp from Polyperformance and a small stick of oily bronze from McMaster...the outer lips keep the bronze where it's supposed to be...

And this is the setup...

The 'draglink' slides on the bushing setup and keeps the ram from trying to rotate.

And how I left tonight...my bender arms are tweaked...and they keep tweaking more and more...sorta makes it difficult to get a straight plane bend...oh well...nothing a little ratchet straping won't fix so far...

will your build brought this to mind, walker evans rock spider. from what I remember they had a hard time tuning the suspension for different events and then the truck disappeared. He used a single ended ram on each side mounted in the a-arm 4 link, kind of a goofy looking setup but it does away with the tie rod problem. Heres a few pics which I'm sure you've already seen

Started a thread on pirate so check there for updates...had to post up there so I can get into King of the Hammers.

Who wants to drive a chase truck/buggy?? (Note: must have own chase truck or buggy and drive it to California)
Nate's in. (right Nate?...I know you're reading)
Sam, you're in right?

hey you fellers better not forget about my ass...COUNT ME IN, i wouldn't miss this for the world...hell i would just be excited to see Will finish one of these crazy ideas:flipoff2:
when is KOH? if nothing else i want to ride out there with ya'll...is nate going to drive his jeep to this event too, haha :fuck-you:..ah the good ol days!!!

Febuary 20th. If we end up getting accepted then we'd treat it as a wheeling trip as well as a race. Try to get out there about 5 days in advance and wheel the hammers.

Start dropping a V8 in the 4Runner.

Nate's building a front 60 for the Jeep at the moment.

yea, V8 swap, i will get right on that, there are so many other things i would rather have than a V8...hell i would just like to find a trailer i could afford...

nates finally putting a 60 in that beast, can't believe he is finally switching out the miracle 44

when would you find out if you were accepted or not? how much longer till you are finished you think?

good luck!

is it a rear engine moon buggy style chassis like #17?

Nah, it's setup for side by side two seater. It's exactly the width of a Samurai hood...so your shoulders are pretty much touching...it'll make a good Pro-Mod car.

NOT FOR SALE...haha...That one turned out exactly like I had hoped...and you know me...if it's not exactly how I planned it should be, I'll part it out.

...and that'd be a negative on the Ford offer...I'd be shooting for a 98-100" wheelbase in that one. The eng/trans/tcases combo you listed is already...what?...112" long?
That and carpotaters suck.:flipoff2:
