Conclusion to the saga of Project: Abraham.
Recap- We started with a 10.5:1 d0ve headed 1970 460 from a Lincoln. The intention of this build was for technical information to serve as a basis for the 'Every guy' build. Daily driver reliability was key, along with some strategic upgrades to have fun in a weekend warrior. Therefore, it was a stock rebuild, with custom ground cam, Mad Dog headers, Scorpion rockers, 750cfm Quick Fuel Slayer and Weiand intake.
Dyno Review- Cast pistons and heat generation capped the dyno run to 4500rpm, but the graph shows the engine was still climbing easily. Torque numbers were impressive, all around 500ft/lbs from 3000-4500rpm.
Results-
Peak hp: 411@4500rpm
Peak tq: 514@3400rpm
So as it turns out...it's not quite as easy as a 4bbl swap and cam kit to turn a 460 in to a 500hp 'monster' as the most guys want to admit. Noting, this is a 'crown jewel, 10.5:1, 365hp d0ve headed' 460. So doing the same thing to a 194-226hp 70-80's 460, will put you in the 250-300hp range.
