Lots of interesting news today

But.... goals.
It's good to have a vision. But it's better to recognize the resources and effort to make that vision a reality.

I will admit that internal combustion engines in each vehicle are less environmentally friendly than larger (more efficient) power plants that could recharge batteries in electric cars.

But I didn't read anything in his statement about the wild fires caused by transporting massive amounts of energy along high tension powe lines through arid climates. Governor Newsom failed to mention California's current energy production deficit and the required infrastructure to resolve these major environmental, health, and economic issues.

Removing your state (and 11% of the domestic consumer market for cars) from the petrol powered car market is great. But I see more wild fires and sky rocketing energy prices in California's future unless they decide to go nuclear (not happening) or expand a whole bunch of fossil fuel power plants.

Yep. This is definitely a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Those electric vehicles don't run on fairy dust, the energy still comes from somepleace. You better have a plan for where that place is that isn't any worse in the long run, especialy considering the economic cost of the conversion.

It's easy for people to forget that the amount of energy in the universe is fixed. All it does is change forms. It's just a question of which form we use for application A or B and how many inefficient transitions happen before it's usable.

Are you saying energy is neither created nor destroyed?

Some other guy said something to that effect that awhile ago, yeah.

Goals are for suckers.

For those times when you need a phone charger with a rafter hook.....

I'm not sure I'd be talking on the phone in situations where a rafter hook would be necessary for the phone charger, but maybe that's just me.

This sounds like it should be paired with Bluetooth-enabled fall protection. :D

This thing will be a huge hit on job sites. Guys will have their phones plugged into them and playing music, guaranteed.

Milwaukee already makes about 3 radios that are pack-powered and have a USB port to charge a phone though...
Yeah but when your working on a man lift with limited space something small that will keep your Bluetooth speaker and phone charging is nice. I rarely can take my m18 radio up in the lift because we don't have room. Most lifts have a receptacle in the cage but only 1 out of 10 ever work.

I’ve never saw one that worked without some kind of tinkering involved.
