Stock market

I have a couple old hard drives with several bitcoin on each. Will sale for $2000 per hard drive.

I love the irony that the very thing that makes Bitcoin such a hot investment makes it a terrible currency, which is what it was supposed to be for.

The market is probably going to jump higher now that the Senate has approved a tax reform plan that lowers the corporate tax rate from 35 to 20%.

So basically we're on track for record setting markets until North Korea tries to Nuke us, at which point I should shift everything into defense industry stocks.

If NK tries to Nuke us, it will all be over in 36 hours. Stock market will drop for 4 days or so. The next week people will have forgotten (already back to facebook), markets will regain their losses, and overshoot prior level by 1000-2000 points.

Or we're not here any more. Either way, it shouldn't matter stock market wise.

3 more years, at least.

How risky can an index fund be?

I thought you guys would be talking about the bloodbath in Crypto-currency this morning.

Mine is down about 30%. I swear it's a bunch of Saudia Arabian princes selling off high to buy back cheap. Or Super Villain George Soros.

As compared to buying individual stocks, the fund is inherently less risky. If your hand-picked stock basket is losing to the overall market, you probably need to reconsider your strategy.

I know. I was agreeing with you. Not that thats ever stopped you from arguing before

The top in BTC was in before Christmas. Ask @trailhugger - I tagged that shit.

I suspect at some point the crypto market will collapse then smooth out into something usable. Right now it's an insanity bubble, people are putting millions into ICO's for companies that don't even have a product yet. And with that sort of capital, they can fake it for a very long time before being exposed as worthless. I've a couple friends who have hit $150k so far on their investments they made back in June. And one friend who sold all his Bitcoins when it hit $1,000 and paid off his school loans - then watched it hit $20k six months or so later. It's a freaking mess, but there's money to be made as long as you sell out early. How's the saying go? "Better three hours too early than a minute too late?" But it's gambling right now, don't put in anything you ain't willing to loose.

And then there's this guy:
