Hello all, I am still building up my barn find jeep. I just put the tub on behind the 304 engine. I'd say there is about a fingers width of clearance... I can get one finger between the head/valve cover and the firewall on the driver side. Is this right? The body mounts are all lined up fine.

Here are some pics...

At least now, I'm not the only one with a Green motor! It's a Factory color, but seems nobody likes it.
ADDED Here are pics form my 79 - CJ7. 7s & 5s are probably the same & looks like you have as much room as we do. About the only "Green" to be found on mine now, is the intake.

For Some reason those pics didn't load before. Thanks a lot for those. It look like there is no heat shield on the drivers side next to that manifold... same as mine. I have seen a few others that do have one. Your engine is the closest set up I have seen to mine. Would you mind snapping a few more photos? I'd be interested in seeing the clutch linkage area and the firewall on the other side. Thanks again!

I used a Flood light while taking these; maybe the flash would have done as well, hard to say. The Weird ones are from underneath, & may be upside down too.
Starting with the first pic, that's looking up from under passenger side, [2 pics] & then moved to the driver side. Clutch linkage & nerf bar has had modifications made, before & after body lift. Top side is easier to recognize.

i have a 76 with a factory 304 that has never been removed. i'll snap some pics when i get back to the states this weekend.

You guys are the best. I bought this jeep already taken apart. I have the tsm and parts catalog. There is no substitute for pics.

Rodney Epps- the condition of your jeep amazes me. There is not one part on mine that didn't have to be por15-ed or rattle canned. Thanks for the pics.

I'm the second owner, even though I've owned it for over 30 years. I would say it has Always been garaged, & I try to keep it clean & washed out underneath.
From the Jeeps I've seen, that's a Must for rust prevention. But I do have some rust in the hidden areas. It's what Jeeps Do! :(
