I've been working on this for the last week or so and I figured I'd throw up some pictures. It isn't my truck but I do the labor on it. It started out with 3" SL and 33s, then last fall I put a d44 and d60 under it with 36" iroks. Looked like this on its first run..

Then some unfortunate things happened on the road and end it ended up like this..

Well insurance totalled it out and let him keep it. Its in pretty rough shape, roof smashed, pillars bent, rear axle bent and misc. other broken/bent things.

Got it over to the shop and started tearing it down/apart.

Started out by running some tube across the floor to tie in/stiffen it up and give me something to mount the main hoop to. You can see the pictures below.

Then cut about 10" off the frame in the back and welded on a bumper with a couple recovery points.

I bent out some more tube for the main hoop, then added some for the bed. Got to take advantage of my recently new notcher with its offset notching capability. It's pretty cool. I finished most of the bed today, need to add some taillights and other pieces here and there. Then I'll start on the front.

As for the road, let me guess...

Calmini Solid axle kit?

I have heard of a few of them having trouble staying together on the road.

Nope, I actually swapped in the the axles with a custom leaf setup. The accident was caused by maneuvering to avoid an accident and it caused it to roll.

My old frontier had the calmini kit on there and it caused me to roll it totaling it out on the freeway.

you do some good work man.... you should open up a shop...

Yeah...the Calmini kit needs a double shear to be set up on the axle end of the track bar. I think most owners of that setup know that.......now. After a few learned the hard way.
This Xterra in this thread had/has a nice leaf setup though.

wow....i need to be friends with you. where can i buy you a beer!

lol, that makes it easy, i dont drink beer...would probably end up buying some along the lines of Zima on accident and look really stupid!

Here you go...

Any progress lately.

Ask and you shall receive.

Made a press for the dimple dies, cost me 30 bucks, about 210 less than an already put together 20 ton press.

Added a couple hoops to go to the windshield and a couple door bars. Also finished the floor for the seats.
