I have been looking and wanting a Scrambler for many years, but they are hard to come across cheap or in decent shape. I stumbled on this project from one of the members here on the board. I hope to have it done by fall, but with 3 kids in sports and a limited budget, who knows????

The project:
YJ tub cut and stretched to resemble a Scrambler with a 1/2 cab. Tube rear section and modified front frame rails.

My plans are as follows:

Engine:
6.0 lq4
cammed
headers
custom tune

Tranny and tcase:

Turbo 350
reverse manual valve body
2500? stall converter
Dana 300 twin sticked

Axles, steering and suspension:

D60/14 bolt (looking still)
5.13 gears
locked
35 spline
Drive flanges
3 link front/4 link rear
air shocks rear
coilovers front (looking)
fuel cell
PSC Hydro-assist (already have ported PSC gear box)

I will try to keep stuff updated as I get something accomplished, but progress will be slow. I will gladly accept any and all suggestions.

On the way home:

Here is kinda the look and stance I'm going for:

This was already started when I picked it up, but I didn't care for where the previous owner was going with it, so I decided start from scratch.

Pulled the rear section off to add some reinforcement and triagulation to the rear section:

Hopefully I will get the rear tubing finished tomorrow and get the rear clip back on so I can start the sheetmetal work. Going to plate the rear corner and side rockers with 3/16" for protection.

Yes, I'm putting harness in.

i almost want to help you find parts so you can get this thing done faster! lol

looks like its gonna be a nasty rig!

Looking good Tad!

Im nuts about it already....Where did you find your 6.0 ? Ill be looking for one for a 72 K10 project someday....

Found it here on the board. Check Craig's as well. Search LQ4

Haven't really made any progress, I've been collecting parts. Picked up a set of CUCV axles here on the forum (thanks Paul). I also bought a new welder since someone helped themselves to my previous one. Got the rear section cleaned and primed. Hopefully get started working on it soon. I have collected most of the major parts now.
