Vortec 7.4 (454) opinions/mods

Hey guys. I'm thinking bout buying a 1998 Chevy 4x4 dually with the Vortec 454 and 4L80E. The truck has less than 100K on it and its a steal. I was looking at some opinions on the drivetrain and what mods would be recommended. Thanks.

Rip out the front suspension and put a solid axle under it.

The 454 was the defacto towing standard until the diesel HP wars started... It's a great mill.

Standard crap helps.. intake, free flow exhaust, etc..

i had a 99 the 2500 that had the vortec 454 and nv4500. it was a hoss for a gas powered tow rig. if you cant afford a diesel its the way to go
