OK so enough is enough. I couldn't hold back any longer! I gotta keep up with the Jone's, Or should I say, The Minton's, the Ellis's, The Maloney's, The Poplin's, the Wilson's and the Thomas's
and so on!
My Jeep UPNOVER II, will be going under the knife soon. Just after our July 4th ride. Chris Ellis @BUCKEYE PERFORMANCE INC. will be doing the build. The plan?
Full width trusses, on both axles, Double ended ram, Fox Coil overs on all 4 corners, Dually 14 bolt in the rear(swapping out my guts into this one), Aluminum Lower links, Heavy wall steel upper links, Not sure yet if it will be 4 or 3 linked in front, depends on clearances. Goal is to get it lower, stretch wheel base so tires are the first on the rocks, and last to go over a ledge.

I have already upgraded to Reid Knuckles, 43 stickies, Hydro steering and so on.
There will be some parts for sale afterward, stay tuned for those!

As the parts come in I will do pics, first to arrive was new disk brake brackets for the rear. No pic yet of those.
2nd to arrive is my Fox coil-overs, with reservoir.

Sounds like an awesome setup! Why aluminum lowers? Seems like steel lowers and aluminum uppers would be a better strength/impact combination and probably similar in weight.

Very happy to see you getting links and CO’s after 73 yrs of wheeling on leaf springs.:D:smokin:

It's only 72 Pal, don't make me older than I am!

Hitting the rocks, I have seen so many of the steel ones bent. You can straighten them, but as we found out at Windrock with @ol'Jeeps Not too easy to do on the trail, but thinking back it was one of his uppers, not a lower. TO further answer your question. The 7075 aluminum links, hit, bend and as soon as the pressure is off of them, come right back out straight.
Watched them on the trails for years, and what I have seen I am sold on them.

I took a trip up to @Barnes 4wd to pick up heims, tabs, trusses, and a 13 bolt cover for the rear diff. Links should be ready by Saturday. Getting some Custom aluminum lower links from Jason Sapp. Work started on it yesterday, from Lunch time to quitting time, Chris made some good progress.

OMG yall watch out the old man is getting all linked up and getting them there coilovers. Now he will really be able to break some shit now, along with them 43 stickies ried knuckles and ctm u-joints. Lol cant wait to see how upnover2 performs
