Stock class XJ build.

is that the final routing and clipping for fuel lines and electrical? I’d be concerned about the fuel supply line rubbing the firewall. Also the pump wiring looks floppy, I’d throw a few more zip ties along the pump and filter. You’re doing a lot of good work, it would suck to have to pull over in the desert just to replace fuel line or broken electrical connection.

Ran out of zip ties. It is not done yet.

What's an air pumper? I googled it, which led me to shopping for Viair compressors on Amazon...
Are they for suits, or keeping dust out of the cab?
They pump fresh air into your helmet. "fresher"

Put your fuel pump on the floor. Not on the top. Siphons and stuff.

Tee off after the ball valve on the supply line and add yourself another filter and pump. Then Tee back in to the supply line. Then all you have to do is change the wires if you have a pump problem.

Do you know the micron of that filter?

Good idea on the pump.

So your saving having the pump below the tank helps siphon fuel better?

Yes, 100%, below the tank a few inches, 150%

I guess I have some more work to do on fuel stuff.

You may never have an issue with it. Many trail rigs have been run that way. One particular bro lite truck is only half way down the tank, but i couldn't get it any lower, don't think he's had any issues. But your going 5k miles round trip, better is better for the toughest race in the country.

Pulling for ya my friend.

Mine is run at about half depth of the tank and I've had cavitation issues when low on fuel. I can't move it anymore down due to the tank being in the stock position. I've also seen the pumps installed with quick disconnects...just in case a quick swap is in order.
Glad to see you doing this, I'll be looking for you when I can watch.

x2. Or you can even wire in the other pump, so you can just flip a switch if there are issues.

Rerouted the fuel pump to below tank. Thanks to smarter people then me.

Does anyone know on a 94 which wire is the on wire under steering column?

Thanks.

I think the steering column and wiring on pre'96 XJs is pure GM Saginaw...might make googling a wiring diagram/connector pinout a lil bit easier

Two weeks to go:
"Oh yeah, how do we turn this thing on?"

I like your style.

Don't worry I do not have navigation, race radio, winch or 35" tires yet..

Does the key ignition work?

Does the key ignition work?
It does. I am making sure that when i flip master cut off switch that the Jeep dies. So I need to wire in column to switch as if I was turning off the key.

Long day. We fired it up and it runs again :). Spare tire test fitted and then mounts made. Winched installed and wired. Battery 100% in. Seat frames made and tabs welded in. Just need more bracing. Then I can get harness in.
