Thinking about getting a trailer to haul my Jeep TJ. Can get either 16' or 18' and I've heard lots of opinions on which one would be best. Shorter for less weight to haul around, longer for more ease of loading Jeep and getting tongue weight where I want it.

So any big opinions either way or just personal prefence given the difference is only 2' ?

Thanks.

Personal preference. 16' definitly good for TJ. I've hauled TJs on 12s before. I'd factor in your tow rig. If you have a whale of a tow rig you may not see an advantage with the 16'.

But I'm currently towing with a 22' and I'll be shortening it up in the near future to ~14'. My van turns very sharp and with a shorter trailer I can be much more nible. The smaller the overall package the easier it is to get in/out of places etc..
