I'm thinking of buyin an Axial SCX10 Dingo, but it only comes as a kit, not ready to run. I'll need to get a transmitter, receiver, ESC, motor, steering servo & battery. I'm a complete noob with RC but I like the idea of building it vs buying it so I know how it's put together.

Any help or suggestions on electronics would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I built the Honcho kit. I'm not a hard core RC crawler, I just like to build and work on them. I hit up e-bay and bought factory Axial stuff. It may not be the best stuff but it's cheap and reliable.

I am just getting back into RC myself and have been doing a ton of research. I am leaning hard toward the FlySky GT3B or GT3C Radio system.

They are really cheap and people seem to love them. They can also be hacked to run 6+ channels with custom settings.

I haven't gotten far in my battery charger combo yet. So far in my researching, it seems you get what you pay for.

As far as ESC and motor, I've chosen the Holmes Hobbies crawlmaster 13t an BLXR esc.

Hope that helps.
