And I thought a GT Escort was a cornering machine since I could run it flat out. Ringing its guts out was a blast until I realized what riding in something with a V8 felt like.
I scrubbed a brand new set off in less than 6 months driving the curvy way to high school. Drove like a freaking go-cart. Dad was a little impressed being an old Hickory Motor Speedway driver.

Just be glad you had a 5 spd, the 1.9 & auto was a recipe for slooooow

In all seriousness, if I could get an old 1.8L GT today I'd rock that sucker daily.
