I have never even replaced the CPS or done the 50 cent mod on my 7.3. I know I need to buy and keep a CPS in the glove box.

That may have been the result of bean counters.. they may have specced 4 functional outlet for symmetry, but bean counters said no too expensive, can't you make it fake to save money!
