It has a 4.3 swapp from P.O he used owm fuel pump on swapp. Which is carburetor has a fuel pressure regulator set to 6psi.
Yesterday My chevota died. The efi fuel pump went bad. Went to put gas in it and when I removed cap it was blowing tons of air out then 1block from gas station shut down no pressure . I had FIL tow me home let it sit maybe 1 hour fired right up.
I drilled a small hole in fuel cap drove it 15 miles yesterday then another 10 today no problems.
Question is of I swapp it to inline fuel pump do I have to remove the efi one in tank and if so what do I put back in its place ?

Typically you have to remove them, some are supposed to have a way for fuel to get by but it's better to toss them. Depending on how the pump is attached you might be able to replace the pump with some hard line with compression fittings or put your own fuel straw in the sending unit.

Been a minute since I had a Toyota pump out of a tank so take that as general "could probably".

Toyota EFI pump has a rubber line from the top of the pump to the steel line. Bottom of the pump rests in the strainer which rests on the bottom ledge of the bracket. Too easy to remove the pump and run a longer fuel line into the sump. You would need to figure out your own strainer though.

No help with the LED issue.
