My great grandpa would always offer me a chew of his redman when I was a teenager. All the ladies would fuss at him, but he didn’t give a damn. He and my grandma were married at around 16. He assumed I was old enough to chew at 13 if he was married at 16.

I do this with trucks and jeeps. She said you don't ever ask me if it is alright to buy that truck or jeep. I tell her i know here answer will be no so i buy it anyway and it saves one argument that way because she know i will buy it anyway. Going to look at a jeep tomorrow to buy. lol.
