Customer was having trouble with his 9" exploding and decided it was time to step up to the big league. axle is a Dana 70 HD out of a '70s ford ambulance. was 76" WMS, will be 69" WMS to match the Dana 60 front. Will be running Rockcrusher and Solid inner C's, knuckles, 3/4 ton caliper brackets and steering arms; ECGS 35 spl drive flanges, ECGS Excalibur 300M joints and Nitro 4340 shafts. Diff is centered, pinion angle at 10*, caster at 5*.

Rockcrusher inner C's machined out to 4" for the huge Dana 70 axle tubes

Inner C mockup, still need to trim the tubes down a little. measurement from the back of the inner C to the WMS is around 11.625" (SRW chevy hubs and knuckles)

machining a chunk of a Dana 60 axle tube to make a inner seal housing for the Dana 70. still need to turn down the OD a little. will be running 2 Dana 60 inner axle seals side by side for ultimate leak protection

This axle will be very close to $3500 but It already has 5.13's and a powerlok. For an extra $1500 you could get gears, bearings, ARB. Still a good bit under a complete solid assembly. http://www.solidaxle.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=18&idproduct=79

This will be ready to install complete with slugs, cromo shafts, RC Spindles, hubs, knuckles, and inner C's. A complete HP 60 with all new componets including center section with ARB, 300 joints, basically bomb proof. would be in the $5400 range as using conventionsl 60 stuff does not require inner C machining and custom seals.

this is a great option for a steering 14 bolt as well, we could do a totally decked out 14 bolt for around $5400, I have some 14 bolts avaialble and will be advertsing those soon. If INDY WILL would sack up and bring me some Portal teK Super 14's we could make one Steer :flipoff2: ill even put seal-it's in it for you.

Yeh, that is top notch right there. What size tires is the owner running?

tell me this isn't greg's

I was wondering the same thing...

Despite my love/hate relationship with the rockwells, I don't know that I could be without rear steer again.

i think he is running 40s. its in a full bodied ZJ with a 4.0
had to machine the seal carriers more to fit in the D70 tubes, which were different side to side
