CJ/Wrangler question

I have a CJ with the wrangler 1/2 doors. The top I took off of it had the snapped screwed into the beveled edge of the body. But I've noticed on wrnglers, they have a channel that the top goes in. Does that channel come with a top for a wrngler when you buy one? or is it something that came on the jeep itself?

I can never seem to find this channel in any of the jeep magazines....so I wondered if it came with the tops themselves.
 
That channel usually comes with the complete top kits... You can purchase those channels from Quadratec...

I know you can get the channels seperately but here is the whole softtop hardware kit

You will probably have to call quadratec for the channel kit part number, i have gotten one from them before.
