can be done, I extended and added dove tails before. thing you need to consider is moving the axle or not. Pending how heavy you get adding weight to the very tail end makes a bit of difference. Most of all It will completely change how the rear carries over terrain changes. Longer rear lenght plus a drop in deck height will leave you plowing ground everywhere if you don't move the axles with it. One customer insisted to spend as little as he could to do a four foot extension. the trailer (a used sunbelt equipment hauler) pulled so poorly afterwards he sold it. yet he wouldn't spend a few dollars to move the axles. In the long run he spent money twice to get what he wanted.

Like was said, adding a 2' dovetail is going to have that thing dragging ass everywhere you go. Are you going to be loading equipment or cars on it?

Didnt really think of the "departure" angle or w/e. I dont use my trailer near enough to even justify keeping it. So i want to modify it to make it more user friendly, for cars also. About everyone i kno calls me for a tow when theyre car takes a poop, cause ill do it for a few beers. I might just try to make some super long ramps and figure a way to attach/detach them. But keep them strong but light. Thanks for the input guys.

Might try some longer, arched ramps, shouldn't be too hard to build depening on what materials you have on hand.
