one in the classifieds here looks like it will meet your needs really well. believe he's asking 1500.00

My vote goes to...

Kaufman Trailers, Inc.
702 North Silver St.
Lexington, NC 27292

Their prices are hard to beat and they are well built.
I've been beating one hard for 15 years and it's still gittin' it.
You used to be able to price one out on the internet, but seems that feature has been removed, probably due to the volatility of steel prices.

i had kraftsman build me a custom one that i'm very please with. price was good too. however, customer service and follow up after my order was placed was lacking.

Yes it will be hauling my yota on tons, 350/th400/203/205 with 40s. I will call kaufmans tomorrow and I emailed the guy in the link about. Any more input. Thanks guys!

I had the same thing with Kuafman. On that note though I love the trailer.

Looking for a 16' trailer. Flat, wood deck. 7000# rating with 1 or two braking axles. No more than $2k. Who has the best trailer for the money in NC?

T&W Trailers are pretty nice and customer service is good. It's the cheapest trailers I can find. Everyone around here has one seems like. phone # 828-726-0161. Located directly across the street from Tri-County Motor Speedway if you can find it. between valdese and Lenoir.

You can buy a new Kaufman for less than 2k. I bought a brand new, 7000#, brakes on both axles, all diamond plate floor, with a spare for $2100. You get a 3% discount for paying cash. Subtract ~$400 for a wood floor. no spare, and one braking axle. I had a great experience with them. I called and was told 2.5 weeks to build it. It was ready in a week. I paid and did all paperwork and was on the road home in 15 minutes.

What location did you buy yours at. I would def want brakes on both axles but the wood deck would be fine with me. How long is your trailer? I will be paying cash.

Called T&T and their prices are really good but I dont know about the quaility. Anyone have one or a pic?

If you're meaning T&W, I've got a 16' flat deck that I bought from them about a year ago. Brakes on both 3500lb axles, 2 5/16, slide in ramps and 7 pin plug for about $1650. No problems with it so far. Comes with C rated Towmaster tires that have been fine, but I'll probably step up to D rated tires when these wear out.

There's also Buckner Trailers in Mars Hill. A little more expensive than T&W and a little farther to drive. http://www.bucknertrailers.com/

Sorry, I meant T&W. I talked to him today and it seems like a great deal. I also like the slide in ramps. Just curious as to why the tires are C rated? Shouldnt they be E rated for trailers? Maybe a stupid question...

I made my own trailer :flipoff2:

Load Cs are fine for a 7k trailer (2 3500# axles) most tires are ~1750# capacity which just covers the rated capacity.

Just keep in mind most 7k trailers weigh ~2000# empty. Figure 500# TW
Add your 4500# rig, add a tool box and some junk, maybe a spare tire and some trail spares and your almost at capacity.

Get at least 1 trailer spare, 2 if you can swing it.. And depending on what you pulling with get the 2nd brake axle.

Skip a few Happy meals and a night or 2 at the movies, but don't skimp out too much on the trailer..

I will be going with brakes on both axles for sure since I am towing with a j20. Even though all the brakes are new and I am upgrading to a hydroboost system I still want it as safe as possible for me and everyone else. What is the next size up from the 7k trailers. I dont want to get to heavy with a trailer since my tow vehicle isnt huge!

The burke trailers look nice. I would rather have something without the dovetail. Who has a dovetail or why should I stay away?

I like the dovetail. It is nice for lower vehicles. Not nearly as much breakover with the dovetail.

I dont have anything to low anymore. that only last for about 5 months when i was 16....13 years ago. HAHAHA! However, I would like to get into low budget drag racing later on so a dovetail might be a good choice
