Yes I'm single! But I'm not looking for that here. If it happens great.

NEhow I'm thinking of buying and setting up an old school antique car/truck restoration shop. I'm looking for anyone that's good with body work. I'm pretty good with the mechanics and the business aspect.

Shop would be located on Rte 18 in Connelly Springs, NC. It would be a one car at a time restoration shop. Antiques, custom vehicle's, and of course 4X's...

LMK if ure interested...

This is the place that could have good pontential...

Not sure what your business model/plan is, or if you’re doing it as a hobby or as primary income...but I will say it can be extremely frustrating, slow moving...but extremely satisfying when it all comes together. Good luck with it and look forward to build pics.

If you need custom parts made or modified let me know. Hope to have my machine shop done and running soon.
Ignore this guy, he's been claiming he was going to have a shop since last year

You will need more than one car at a time to make any money. You will have times you are waiting on parts or the owner of the car will have times he cant pay every week. You will need 4 or 5 to keep you busy and a steady income. I have done some resto work it is hard to make money at it. I do insurance work and out of pocket jobs and stay pretty busy. It took me several years to get my name out there to get steady work. I stay booked up for at least 2 weeks in advance and have 7 to 8 cars sitting here waiting to be repaired. Good luck.

Biggest lesson we had to learn was that it was the mechanic work that kept the lights on, but the big builds were the pay days.

That's a neat building....is there room for the 100x100 red iron building you're gonna need to house all the projects and parts/pieces spread out everywhere?

I.E. you get balls deep into a resto and a single part has that entire bay hemmed up for 3 months...so you have to switch to another bay and work while waiting for a part. Get balls deep in THAT project...and damnit....gotta wait on a part....so now 2 bays completely hemmed up....now we move to a 3rd area and 3rd project while project 1 & 2 are waiting for parts

Ya feelin me right now @Chris_Keziah aren't ya

Thanks Y'all for the great information. I'd be looking to do it as a retirement hobby/part time income. I certainly don't want to be getting bogged down with customers needing their vehicles fixed. That's why I just want to buy a vehicle to restore, restore it, then sell it. Sure I might have 20 or so projects that build up and yes the lot has room for storage.
Idk could just be a pipe dream... Will see.. Guess I want someone to push me into JUST doing it.

PUSH

If you have the means and flexibility for it to be a hobby and it makes you happy, go for it!

This... Good luck. I started tinker with my old 51 F1 recently.

Get after it bossman...start today. If you don’t have the stress of relying on it for income or deadlines, there’s absofawkinglutely no reason not to start. I can’t think of a better scenario, if you determine you actually like doing it...you’ll be self-driven to do it every day. If you don’t like it, no harm no foul...find something else to tinker with.

Thanks, I'd probably do it if I had the nickels to run together. But this venture might take a lot more than I got at the moment. That's why I need a partner. To split the business and profits 50/50.

I could be long winded, but I'll keep it short. Partnership is for marriage.
Your better finding a silent investor who seeks payment and income for his financial support.
If you are driven, have a plan, mindset, or goals chances are none or few will line up with another individual. At best a partner should handle another aspect you don't have knowledge or aptitude in. It should be 100 percent business and legit bases covered and boundaries established. Including liability, investment, and revenue. Head hurt yet?
Go for it. Establish some friends and a network. Earn customers. Friends, customers. May overlap, but in the end they are two different animals. If it grows and you grow with it, outsource or hire. Partners can deviate or water down your goal. It doesn't happen intentially, it's human.

Understandable...my point was more that it’s just more than working capital. Licensing, research, type of corporation, setting up accounts with local box stores and what their credit limits are and how much volume they require, wholesale dealer accounts, billing structure, cost analyses, etc etc. There were several guys on here that helped me navigate a lot of those topics. @REDLYNER specifically helped me set up my Transamerica and ATechmotorsports accounts...other well known vendors here helped float me by on parts until my volume was large enough to satisfy some part houses minimum requirements. There’s a lot to it, that I wish I would have known 6 months before diving in, that is practically free, just some leg work and sweat equity.

Edit...the easy part is securing the capital...even if it's a $20k paypal loan...buy your $10k car, sink $5-10k in to it, flip it for $25-30k, and you're off to the races.

Not being a Debie Downer, but one last thought on partnerships.
Will you be prepared to buy out what a 50/50 investor(partner) has put in? Should he or she have other interest or want out.

You've work X amount of time. You invested Y amount of money. You finally see some revenue and a pathway to success. Maybe your halfway through a major project and a big payday. But suddenly financial burden, sickness, or just cold feet strikes.
Will you be prepared to double invest? Or are you gonna pray another "right fit" walks in the door?

All things to ponder. Many I already lived.

Fuller may be looking for another opportunity.
No he want stay in one place. Never met the fella personally. Can't help but think he's a decent guy. Definately not one to throw down roots from what I can tell. Some people thrive off the what if unknown. Get comfy and the brain tears it down for unknown, real, or fabricated reasons because of the next challenge and move satisfies some urge. What was it called by someone else? Gypsy

Would have made one Heck of a western Pioneer.
