Aftermarket tow mirrors or snap on mirrors?

The factory normal mirrors on my 2018 F150 don’t offer much of a towing view. OEM tow mirrors from Ford are outrageous.
What do you guys think about aftermarket tow mirrors that look like factory tow mirrors? Reviews seemed to be mixed.
What do you think about the tow mirrors that attach to your existing mirrors?

Not apples to apples but I've got a 2006 F-350 and I replaced the stock tow mirrors with the 08-16 style aftermarket set. I've been pleased with mine and I know others that have switched and been pleased as well (that being said, these mirrors compared to the 99-07 style mirrors are a HUGE upgrade w/ visibility). I'm sure the OEM ones are better but I wasn't about to pay what Ford wants for them and they're pretty hard to find used (very high demand so they are some of the first things to go from parts trucks). I get some vibration movement in my upper mirror but certainly nothing I'd deem unsafe or annoys the hell out of me.

My dad has some on his 2011 F150. Can't remember the brand but they were from 1AAuto I believe. They are better than the standard factory mirrors, but not as good as the 08-16 super duty mirrors. The super duty mirrors have such a large, useful blind spot mirror that I rarely use the regular mirror. I assume the factory f150 tow mirrors are better than aftermarket, but the aftermarket are fine.

I bought cheap aftermarket tow mirrors for my truck and have been very happy with them. I would not run the snap on things if it were me.

Unless you wanna look like a 75 year old, recently retired to travel, never pulled anything in your life newb :D

I decided against the snap on mirrors and ordered the aftermarket mirrors from Amazon. When they get here, I’ll let you know how they do.

Speaking of tow mirrors. I wish an aftermarket company would design a tow mirror similar to the newer Ford, but fit the dodges. Id love to have a larger mirror that has the convex piece in the correct spot.

Look up the "elephant ear" mirrors. There used to be a Mopar version and a knock off.

I started looking into the cost of getting some mirror arms produced so you dodge guys could have your mirrors flipped up, but tucked in. Then I saw a SQUIRREL! and that was the end of that.

CIPA makes an extendable mirror for the 3rd & 4th gen Dodges, that looks nice. Cant get crap for the 2nd gen anymore.

Mirrors arrived today.

You can get the GM mirrors to mount to a Ram, and they don't look bad IMO. If I didn't have tow mirrors I'd look hard at them before putting Ram mirrors on it.
