Any ideas on where to get some? I spoke with 5 different places and no one had it in. They all said they could send standard steel out to get galvanized, but couldn’t get it before this weekend.

Looking for about 15’ total.
2 1/2 x 1 1/2” rectangular.
Galvanized.

I’m in charlotte area, but don’t mind paying for shipping. Any suggestions?

We order from Totten on Insteel
but for the quantities you prolly want shipping would suck

Galvanized steel is made to order. You might try with boat suppliers if it's for a lift.

There's always zinc in a can, but that won't get the inside of the tube.

Multiple websites were advertising as having it, but it seems you are correct, everyone I spoke to has to send it out. Must not be very much demand to keep it in stock.

Typically has to be fabricated first. Any brackets/cutting/etc all need to be done before it's dipped. That's why there isn't usually any laying around. A boat lift guy might have some already on hand if it's a typical size/use, but you're going to have to get lucky other than that.

That was part of my key learning this morning. Even if I bought the 3 pieces I need, once they are welded on or drilled through it defeats the purpose of the galvanizing.

Yep. I would suggest aluminum (knowing nothing about your project) if you can get away with it. I have alot of random 2x4 drops and longer sticks (24') if you need any.

I also suggest you visit a galvanizer sometime just to see how horrific of a place it is. Hahah

Right...fab, then dip. Maybe you can finder a galvanizer willing to do it through a boat trailer dealer. Or just aluminium as said.
