So not that pretty much everything has gotten canceled with my kids, I have a lot of free time to work on projects. The deck on our house has been screwed up since we moved in. Someone built the deck right against the threshold so it has rotted out the back doors. I decided to lower it about 4.5" to get it away from it. Plus make it bigger, because everyone like a big deck.

Last week I picked up a load of wood from @Jody Treadway and this weekend I dug into it. Friday we did a tear down which continued into Saturday morning. By Saturday afternoon we were on full rebuild mode. Part of the deck is a little screened in area, but whoever built the deck did a pretty poor job and the one side was bolted to the side of the deck with four lag bolts, two of which weren't even touching anything. It has been slowly dropping down on that side so I had to shore it up. Three posts, support beams and a bunch of concrete and I got that back in place. Luckily they built the deck sloped, so the screened in area had sank down to the point it was level so that was convenient.

Yesterday I had to dig 7 more post holes for the supports for the new larger deck and got those all squared up and concreted in along with mostly set the crossbeams for the decking. Hopefully tonight I can get the support beams bolted in and the new crossbeams done so I can start laying down the decking.

Oh, and I need to dig three more post holes.

Teardown pic. It was a bitch, but both my boys and my wife helped. I'll try and get some more pics as I start putting it together.

When I first saw the picture without reading anything, I thought you were catfishing off a dock. Looks dark, can't see the rods that well, etc.
 Maybe that'll be a deck addition. Catfish pond.

Crewed at VIR on Saturday for two cars running the SCCA Spring into March event, Raced dirtbikes in Gretna, VA on Sunday. Grassroots motorsports aint skurrd. We are still working, but with events being cancelled right and left, I'm running out of stuff to do. If a mandatory shutdown happens I am glad I have piles of parts for the CYJ.

Hiked the pups in the AM Saturday. Then, along with my wife, met up with an old grow up friend and spent the day on our bikes in Dupont. We hiked to a few falls before heading home and enjoying a 22 oz ribeye.
Sunday consisted of a 5 mile hike/dirt church service with the pups. An off leash aggressive Great Pyrenees is alive today because I couldn't reach my holster since Jasper's leash was in my right hand. Headed home, tuned up our bikes and I went back out for a spin while Lisa cooked some veggies for dinner.
All in all, a solid weekend spent away from crowds, hysteria and for the most part, idiots.

If my work shuts down I’ll probably take an impromptu camping trip, after a week of knocking out things around the house.

Pressure wash the house/deck
Organize the garage
Fix my TJ
Fix my XJ
Fix the wife’s van (coolant sensor)
Change the oil in my truck, and tune up
Clean up some junk in my yard
Weed and mulch the flower beds
Maybe finally seal my deck

And a few other things my wife has been asking me to do for 6 months.

As of right now I dont even know if im working or not the next two weeks. I got some mataince things to do to the jeep. Also went and got some more fishing tackle to spend my time in social isolation.

I kid you not, I was cooking up a way to "work" from the boat with a 4G Hotspot (email check-in is "working", right?). We just upgraded to one of the Ghost brushless trolling motors a while back and I haven't been able to check it out on the water yet (fishing buddy says it's amazing).
I've got a serious itch to see how the morning topwater bite is doing.

Did I mention you all suck? :flipoff2:

I hope like hell it doesn't come to a two week shut down for factories. But.... I m planning on buying a bunch of lumber and metal in the next couple of days to build a lean to and enclose my shed should such an event happen.

Work is still happening here. Gotta make sure the roads stay open. A lot of our office staff is starting to work from home but I'm still at the office.

Just had our Covid update call...continuing status quo until mandated otherwise. My kids are young and my wife stays home most of the time anyway. So no real change for me other than buying some infrared thermometers to check for fevers as people walk in the door.

West Virginia is still holding strong

I'm in engineering too, I am sitting at my desk as well. :(

Bidness as usual here from my home office....

Except now I gotta get it done with a three year old trying to sit in my lap while I work, an 18 month old that wants to ride the step ladder like he's in the PBR.....until he falls off and hits his head on my chair, something princess related on Disney+ in the background....

The projects have been getting done when everyone's in bed...

Still going into the office like normal. We're actually super busy this week but admittedly, I'm curious to see what travel limitations (if they happen) will mean for us. I want to keep my employees busy and working, for their sake.
Plenty to do in the shop too. Like everyone else, just gonna see what happens next.
