Looking to borrow an enclosed trailer to pick up dead peoples stuff

The things we do to get attention...

My family has had a couple relatives pass in a very short time frame, with little to no arrangements made ahead of time, and so we find ourselves needing to clean out a couple houses in the next two weeks or so.

The last sibling of my mother, my aunt in Weaverville, passed on Tues and she was renting her house. Landlord wants it cleaned out asap to renovate (its basically rotting into the ground). First pickup there.

The biological father of my niece passed last week in Ohio and she and her mom, my sister in-law, are there now going through his house.

My brother will be up from Fla. next Wed to take care of Aunt's belongings, and then head to Ohio to deal with his step daughter's father's items. An enclosed trailer would keep things dry and safe while on this bizarre trek.

With no arrangements by either, we're paying for all the burial and other services out of pocket, so hoping somebody has a trailer to loan out to avoid at least that expense. Bro spent many years as a long distance trucker, so safe towing is a given.

Ken got me thinking about the logistics of this - so far the trip looks like a run from Asheville area to Ohio, then back to Fla. A trailer starting off in NC would end up in Fla. for a bit, maybe months, unless could find yet another hauling option back to NC.

As this is unlikely, I'll not expect anybody to volunteer a trailer and will see if the 6x12 U-haul version is big enough. Maybe I bring some items back to Raleigh in one and another ends up in Fla.

If on the other hand, you've got one that can be gone that long... :)
 
What part of Florida? I'm likely heading that way for my dad's 80th birthday in March.
 
Don't forget to check with penske. They were the cheapest I found when bringing my wife's grandparents stuff back from MS last year. Not sure if the fords do, but the gmcs have cruise which is a very nice feature when you're driving 12hrs.
