Because Race Shop - Left Eye Blind Racing

This build right here really helped us break in to serious, dedicated truck pulling builds.

A couple big moves lately. Hired a couple new guys, North shop doubled in size and hopefully going to be able to get back to side projects.

Picked up our first shop funded build, no buyer lined up yet...so a bit nervous, not sure how wild we’ll get. Have a couple 7.3’s kicking around, it’ll get the 60/sterling treatment...some assembly required.

Can someone tell me where the carb goes???

Some turbo love??? Supplied some parts to this customer for his 460 build...forged bottom end, little bit of head work and a small turbo...pretty conservative/mild build. Absolutely shocked at the $:hp and $:tq ratios on only 7.5lbs...peaks 532hp/651tq

Why is the block filled with concrete?

Not literal concrete...hardened epoxy. It’s used to add rigidity to the engine block, some guys use it as a band aid for ridiculous over-bores, in excess of 100 thou or more. The proper usage is to keep the cylinder round. When you’re talking 9000rpm passes and you’re doing full tear downs every few races/once a season to replace wear items, it’ll help prevent a $4-5k block from being on that list too.

Ending an era...running events until it’s sold $15kobo, located Joppa, MD. Should comply with most super stock classes. Off-road use only. 700hp 466, monster Trans C6, yadda yadda yadda.

Figured I'd post it here for anyone that sends me messages or asks for quotes. I’m cashing out and getting out of the biz after 6 years by the end of Q1. Kris probably won’t be far behind and hasn’t been accepting new engine builds for a few months now. We’re both just getting burned out with 9-5 jobs as well. The business is still alive and well, everything will be transferred to Paul. Everything on the website is still valid, paul will still be doing custom car builds/restorations, and he’ll also take on more of the mild engine builds. I appreciate any support we’ve gotten from the forum.

Ha...it was tough. All 3 of us have regular day jobs and I couldn’t commit to making the jump full time. Kris hasn’t made an official decision, but as noted, hasn’t accepted a new build in a few months. Paul, however, will be going full time with the business and has been flying solo on day to day operations for the better part of a year anyway and has hired a couple people at his shop to pick up any overflow.

That's a hard call to make, you guys have built some really nice stuff, I hope everything works out.

Thanks man...I was the most replaceable, but set up Paul with a Tax attorney friend of mine to handle day to accounting remotely through Quickbooks. One of the guys Paul hired can handle the R&D test and tune I was doing too. Paul is more than capable to handle most engine builds, but I’m sure Kris will always be available for anything exceptionally cool.

You still got plans for 78-79 Bronco SD60 axle swap or did I just make that up in my head?

Still do...was getting pretty close to pulling the trigger on using @Chris_Keziah ‘s skills and then all hell broke loose, so I started pinching pennies.

Don't lie.....you spent all your money on toilet paper . When you get started on it make double the parts/pieces, don't mess any up and send the leftovers to me :D.

His will be done with a bolt on mind set, so if your serious let me know and we can talk when the time comes.

@ramjo ...what Chris said is the key in this entire swap. Sure, guys can go get a junkyard axle and get it under a truck with minimal effort...but they all look like hammered dog shit using the SD RA's and booger welding in some plate. The other key to the swap is, I always wanted it to be done in a driveway by guys like me (who booger weld at best) and prefer kits for ease of use and because they're assemblers (not builders). I know the OBS market has several of these options for $1800-6000. I also wasn't going to pay $1200+ for a 78/9 60 when I could get a far stronger axle (set) for under $500. It just seems like an untapped market to me.

yea, im not a fabricator either and I pinch pennies pandemic or not. But an affordable bolt in system for some serious beef would be sweet.
