We Bought a RV Clark!! Oh no! Rebuild thread

What did you use as a roof sealant around the penetrations?

This is what I have used with great success. Getting it off is a messy PIA!!

I need some. The existing sealant is really starting to show its age and need to do some PM on it before it leaks. Already removed and replaced most of the rest of the exterior caulk with this exception.
Not to hijack but make sure if you have EPDM or TPO Roofing. I order my dicor off amazon cause it’s the cheapest I have found. 1tube should do 1 roof vent or about 3 bath/toilet vents. Replace anything plastic while you’re up there.

@rockcity , for a few dollars more, you can stop by a camper service place and scoop some up too.

But amazon is the ticket, if you can wait a couple days.

Get more than you need, and use it all.

And dont bother trying to make it pretty...that wont happen.

My roof is all fiberglass, so no issues with a roof membrane, per se.

But, I did order 8 tubes from Amazon as there are a few seams on the roof I want to redo for peace of mind.

That stuff works great on metal roofs also it’s what I use on my toy hauler it’s actually cheaper at camping world right down the road from me the Amazon prep your seams with some alcohol and it’s the stickiest stuff ever on your hands but works great

Had the good fortune of smearing my Croc in some of that sealant before it was setup while I was there. It’s never coming off.

Next small project was to repair exterior blow out damage and replace fender flairs on both sides.

I had already cut away the damaged skin..and straightened out the aluminum frame as best I could .

Next, I added externabond tape, foam and glue to patch the hole from the inside out..

Then I cut a peice of new frp and glued it over everything. Its tight!
When that dried, I installed the new fender flairs. It ain't perfect, but its good enough.

It's been a while!

I started working on my entry step. For now, I have removed the mechanical step. I tried working on it, but it needs new stuff. I'll get that later.

Dug out all the rotten, added new treated wood then wrapped everything in water proofing eternabond tape.

Scraped of the old grippy tape

Cut out some thick rubber gym flooring for the main step, added carpet to the sides , stuck on some new sticky tape and called it good to go.

They grey carpet is all easy clean, easy replace stuff.

I havnt updated this thread in quite a while. Work has slowed on the rv, as it is almost done. We have all of the trim in place, screwed down, and all trim inserts have been added.
There is over 300 linear feet of new outside trim work on this beast.

This long LED light strip was included in all of that rv stuff I bought cheap from campers inn. I hung it up on the shed and rigged it up to a battery for testing. It works!

So we hung it up just below where my awning will eventually be. I'm yet to purchase my awning but I will soon.

I wired it directly into my porch light, so they come on in unison.
