The Never Tight TJ Build

Angle iron, Sharpie, relief cut, bend, weld.
Oh, and a boat load of spare time

Done it before, but having access to a plasma table at lunch has some benefits.

Got the sway bar arm straightened out, was a lot easier to do than I thought it was going to be. Just sandwiched it between the plates on the press and squeeze.

I also got uber lazy and just welded a tab to the other tab. Not the prettiest thing but it'll work and should blend in after it gets covered in mud and dirt.

I'm gonna be professional and make a nice part

It's going to take a lot of time.

I've got access to a plasma table. I'm gonna make it like a pro

I'm not professional and just glued a random piece of steel with a hole in it to the other piece of steel

I think I've captured that conversation correctly...

Now just tweakin for a front 60.......and 40s, coilovers, air shocks, etc

It’s a deep dark hole you’re going into.... I’ll leave a light on for you down here.

I appreciate it, this stage is snow balling. Thinking of air shocks for the rear, need 17" beadlocks which means new tires, and I want to try a double triangulated rear 4 link and start a sub frame build.

It’ll burn a hole in your credit card real quick lol

Yes, yes it has. I started thinking of all the things I would do when I eventually LS swap it and I decided to postpone thinking about that. LS means alot of things I want to do but aren't necessary but would be better done at the same time.

Yeah me too. I was thinking why swap out a perfectly good 4.0 that will run on its side and shrug off hydrolock like it's nothing. If I just get a little more gearing out of it (atlas) and some minor suspension and steering upgrades it'll be more capable than I will be. Probably. ;)

I may grab some of my vacation this weekend and see what it’s all about.
Pics while drinking one (with you wearing uggs and leggings with one knee slightly bent and hand on hip) or it didn't happen
