What have you done to your rig today?

As "Creepin" has been doing "Rust Reduction", I decided it was time for me too. I was scared of what I might find under the front roll bar feet. It's only been in my 79 CJ for 30 years! Driver side was the worst, but not bad at all. I guess Drivers side gets used the most, so more rust collection. I Though the passenger side was looking Bad, after lifting the foot. Turned out it was mostly Dirt. Two grinders, & wire wheels on a drill, worked well. Rust prep, cleaned again, & first coat of prime. looking Fine!

I’m considering the entire exhaust system as temporary right now.
I did the same trail fix on my old 2nd gen 4Runner...with plastic zip ties. I thought they would melt and break, but to my surprise they held up for a couple of months, and I sold the 4runner with them on. It is, however, well known that nothing lasts longer than the temporary.

Hah, I actually considered just using zip ties as well, but I needed beer too and the closest Advance is in the same shopping center as walmart soooo

If you're going to do it, might as well do it! Looks like you did a fine job :D

Started out with a simple clutch adjustment. Then.... Waterpump upgrade. Stock < Mellings. Then I just started taking off parts for no good reason. Not even done yet.

Does it work? Replace it.
Does it leak? Change it.
Is it broken? No, but it could be.

Well another productive day working on the new tow rig. Got the 08+ tow mirrors installed, new shifter boot and factory knob, Riffraff 6637 intake, new belt, new hoses, new tstat, Riffraff billet tstat housing, 05-07 headlights, and 05-07 grille. Been a very productive day.

@Chris_Keziah, where'd you source the grill, headlights and tow mirrors from your old tow rig? Would like to do these same mods soon.

Primer, caulking [messy stuff around roll bar feet], & paint dried. Tried to Blend in the difference in paint colors, but it's under the floor mats anyway. And I needed my socks back! These cold mornings, My feet were cold.

Got a stock 05-07 grille off Ebay and cut it down. Headlights and mirrors I got off of Amazon. There's a few places on the interwebs with instructions on how to make, the headlights fit. It was a lot of trimming from what I remember.

I stopped along the way up to MD and picked up some tires for one of mine yesterday. Since I'm gunna be here for a week, I didn't want them being stolen out of my truck, so....

Absolutely zero fawks given :D

giving my front axle the @CasterTroy treatment.

*anything said in response to this will likely offend SOMEONE*

That's gonna look so funny as the SOLE clean component under that dirty Jeep

I'm actually quite impressed that Josh got the paint to stick to that many layers of crust
