There's an ad on the page you're trying to load that triggers the pop up. I need that ad. I tried to do it manually, but there were over 4000 new ads published so far today.

I know all this BS'ing we do ain't free, but how much would you lose if you just killed the ads altogether? They don't improve the board in any way, and now are making it worse.

Duh, they improve the board by giving people an incentive to send him extra $$ to make them go away!

@shawn it happens so fast, nearly impossible to see the ads. Has happened so much today that I'm done, I'll wait til I get home and can use the laptop instead of phone.

FYI, Android, not using tapatalk or anything, recent antivirus renewal, with all updates.

I assume the reason it happens for some folks, and not others, is the whole AdSense thing. Must be a sub-set of people that have been targeted by/for that specific ad, while the rest of us get ads for porn and ladies underwear. :D

As of this moment actually I'm seeing no ads at all. I assume this is b/c @shawn is trying to figure it out.
Look at you guys, putting him to work on Good Friday..

Ads are placed based on all sorts of stuff. Geography, cookies, search history, etc.

We would not have 12 Days anymore, and we'd have to pay all the hosting fees and stuff out of pocket. There is a bunch of miscellaneous stuff as well, but that's the gist of it.

The $20/yr subscription more or less pays for whatever ads you'd otherwise see.

It's a Google ad. They had an issue with this a few months back and fixed it, so cat and mouse.

Or just do what I did and buy the ad free option! So worth it.

I don't care what carrier you have or what phone you have. Just reporting my status for @shawn knowledge. My personal phone is an iPhone 6 and my work phone is an iPhone 6 Plus. I know, ancient by today's standards but they work and they're running the latest iOS software. I have an ancient iPad running the latest iOS that it will download. Thank god I don't experience these pop ups. I'm good to go

I almost replied last night that my Pixel 2 had also given no problems. Now this morning the site is nearly unusable. It seems that if I scroll with a flick or don't touch the screen, it does not redirect. But if I keep my finger on the page to scroll slowly as I read, I get a redirect almost every time. Also, if I try to type a reply, about 1-2 words in, "Congratulations!" It took about 10 tries to be able to type this.
Here are the two ads that keep coming up on mine when it happens:

Google's ad review/approval system has been unavailable since yesterday afternoon.

Must be on vacation for Easter!

Everything is working fine tonight. @shawn Did you change something?

Now this morning I made it through about 8 threads before it started again.

this has been happening on another board I visit and the Admin said to get the URL in the browser before hitting CLOSE if you can and then the forum Admins can block it.
The culprit is the Ad network is full of shit and google can't police them all.

I work in Digital and am happy to see something done about it.
Its happening on their adwords network too.

I've been seeing it all over the place, but not here. Google shut us out of the ad review center about a week ago, so I don't have any control over them at present.

Keep getting this page redirect. Also a Walmart one.

last night I couldn't stay on to reply to this thread due to the redirects, after about 8 times I gave up.
