We Bought a RV Clark!! Oh no! Rebuild thread

I took the advice of @shawn and others.

These showed up a few weeks back. I just found these pics.

I had already purchased 4 cheaper vents (2 plain,2 with cheap fans) so now the 2 w/o fans wont be used.

The good ones will be in bedroom and living room. And the 2 cheaper fan units will be in Shower and bathroom.

I don't think I can send the plain vents back now, it's been well over 30 days. Anybody wanna buy two new vents?

Sure, you couldn’t quote @shawn message or @skyhighZJ message. Gotta make me go back through a bunch of pages to find the related posts, LOL! :D Going back through those pages reminded me you have way more patience that I could ever hope to have. Phenomenal job on this rebuild. I honestly don’t know how you keep going.

I didnt wanna go find those messages lol
Thanks for the praise! Its alot of work, but its rewarding to see it coming together and the feedback on my build thread has been great to read too!

Plus...this type of work isn't hard for me to understand. Its the "science of metals" type stuff that baffles me. And I dont really like working on vehicles much so...this just fits me better.

@Dylan W. its not a bad thing to keep a spare vent lid in the camper in storage. They aren’t the toughest thing in the world and if you’re out and about it’s nice to have an extra if a limb comes through one in a crappy rainy night or something. They are pretty easy to replace in a pinch as opposed to having to wrestle with a tarp to stop the rain or whatever. The FanTastic vent lids are poly- carb and much tougher so no real worry there.
Not trying to take away from @BRUISER but I’d keep one as a trail spare.

Just a thought

Brooke helped me with the cieling foamboard work. We had already cut it, so all we had to do was glue it and stick it up against the new roof luan.
Brooke is no good at running the glue trowel , so she was chosen to reach up and mash the glued foamboard into its numbered spot on the ceiling. (And before the short jokes fly..I could reach it if I had to...Brooke could just reach it better );)

Drilled some wire holes in a few..

And performed some advanced arch wire trenching on others....I'll stick the wires up in here, and holt it with a bit of gorilla tape until cieling panels go up.

Needed a few holes for
wiring
20190627_192913.jpg

I ripped a piece of treated deck flooring and glued and screwed it to my top wall joist. This is what the running lights will attach to.

Pre drilling for 5 rear running lights.
It was easier to measure and pre drill these before the rear outside frp goes on. Once frp goes on, I'll re drill through these same holes.

Re checking ladder location before starting on the rear frp siding.

Then it was time to start trimming to match the outside skin.

Mean while.....let's get these roof edges cleaned and buffed up..

After trimming one side, we have a pretty good looking curve going on. Should make for a nice corner for the frp to roll over.

“Mash” is probably one of my favorite southern terms.

I was in Chicago for work once and got on an elevator, asked the lady already on if she could “mash 3” for me. She looked at me like I had 2 heads! Lol

Are you going to name this beast?..or is that a thread of it's own? I love this thread and you for your tenacity but I am HATING this RV because it is overtaking your life!

We've tossed around a couple names but nothing's stuck yet.

Sure, I, we spend alot of time working on the RV, but its sitting 15 ft off my front porch. The kids are swimming 25 ft from the back window. It's all good. .
I'll be glad when it's done though.
