Where is the best place to buy a new motor for an 8274?

How old is the 8274?....you are gonna need to know because there were a couple different motors. You typically can get the motors reworked locally as well......

You will need the serial number to know for sure if your particular motor is still available.

Don't mess around with the original motor. Just get the new 6hp motor they put on the 9.5XP. Look on the PBB, should be info over there on it. No-load speed was like 100fpm.

Depending on how old it is, some of those motors are only 2.5hp, or even less.

I have seen a thread or two on Pirate where folks have replaced the stock motor with a more powerful/faster unit. Might want to check it out.

Friend had one rebuilt, it was just as much as a new one. I swaped a newer motor onto an older 8274-just had to change one of the drive gears. Old one had a keyway, new one had splines. Got the parts from clemson offroad, fast shipping to nc.
