Through the past few weeks of looking for a deisal truck Ive realized that the only thing in my price range is going to have a hell of a lot of miles on it. So I figured Id go ahead and plan on gettin the transmission rebuilt in the next several months. What kind of money am I looking at for rebuilding the transmission on the 3/4 and one ton trucks. Ive had several half ton trannies rebuilt for around 1200-1500 bucks, is the heavier trans going to cost significantly more? And what kind of performance upgrades do ya'll recomend getting done at the same time? I dont plan on modding the engine of whatever I get all that much but Ill probly do the standard intake and exhaust upgrades. Just for the record the two trucks Im looking at are a 97 Ram 12 Valve and an 01 Powerstroke, both 4wheel drive.
