Rewinding motors

I finally got around to fixing my Rustler, turns out it was a bad motor. It only ran about 1/2 speed.

Do any of you guys get your motors rewound? Back in my 1/24 slot car days, we sent our armatures to get rewound and balanced. The more times you sent them out, the faster they got.

I have a motor lathe where I can turn the com down. You need to have a motor where you can take the end bell off though. I don't know anything about getting them rewound.

It is typically not worth having armatures rewound for most of the stuff now. You can buy armatures ready to go from places like www.holmeshobbies.com that will be much better....but like duty said, you need to have a motor with a removable end bell.
