My DD is a 00 Tacoma. Use it for hauling landscape material on the weekends and other stuff too. The stock springs ride fine with nothing in it but just a little load and it's on the stops. Not looking for lift but something to handle the payload without making in hard as a rock unloaded.
Looking for sources or ideas without spending a fortune.

Add some airbags, they probably have a bolt on kit and you won't lose your ride quality. Firestone is probably the best, but do a little research to find out exactly what you want. If you can fab, just buy the bags and make your own brackets and plumbing, the bags alone are fairly inexpensive.

If you arent into fabbing, check out performance products. i have seen that they have an airbag kit for tacos in their catalog.
