I have been seeing may 31 posted several places, but nothing official.
Anyone able to confirm?
Darin posted that on FB and he works for the USFS so I'm betting it's accurate.
I don't get it personally. When I wheel I spend more time in my vehicle and spotting at a distance.
It's hard to find logic in an illogical decision.
Uwharrie, SFWDA, & United, all have FB pages, & post the latest news. Our Club, re-post it on our page.
Their website still says open May 15
I had reservations at Arrowhead for Memorial day weekend, and they canceled my reservation and refunded the money... Now the soonest 'bookable' day is June 1st... Not sure what that means for the trails though...
I bet it will change between now and then. Probably on the 15th. LOL!
Yea I've got no inside connections. But it seems like everyone you talk to or hear from has a different date.
Just received an email from Terry
“Hi Everyone – I know you all have a lot of questions about when the OHV trails are going to reopen on the National Forests in NC – Uwharrie National Forest. I have attached the official press release that came out today for the Badin Lake OHV Trail Closure Extension. The OHV trails will be remaining closed through May 31stwith a tentative date of June 1st to reopen them.“
Got it too.
Is there an email list that you're on to get updates?
Yes its the volunteer update list. Teresa Savery heads it up. I have in the past done quite a lot of it. I use to go to every workday when they were closed. Jan, Feb, March. Been out there with snow on the trails. Sadly I have had a lot going on and not able to get out there the last year or more.
Do you have a link?
I think you have to go to a workday to get on it.
Don't know of a link.
That is how I got on it.
Been to countless workdays, never been asked for an email address.
Not sure then, maybe if you sign up as a contact for a club or organization. I know I am listed as such and maybe that is what gets me the updates?
When was the last time you went? I've sighed in at every work day I've worked. Terry passes around a clipboard and you put your name on it and there is a place to sign up for email updates.
I haven't been to a work day in almost 3 years, but everyone I went to the sign in sheet had the spot for an email address. I never actually got any emails from it, but they have my email address for something, lol.
