    Getting a updated drive train.
    1) 3800 Buick Engine - Getting a different motor
    2) 4L60 GM - Rebuilt transmission
    3) Atlas 3.8 - Transfer case [ East Coast Gear Supply ]
    4) PCM Wiring and Bench Harness - Basically that
    5) Profit
    .
    1) 3800 GM (Buick)
Hey it fits......up until this point, i thought it would fit, i took measurement, but......
    20181219_162232.jpg
    .
There about were it will ruffly sit.
I still have to re-gasket it. I don't mind going through the motor,
it give me a good base line of where everything is at.
The old water pump looked new, but the outside it look like it has been setting a while,
~10 years I know that this is TRUE....
plus, Dex-cool still in the bottom of engine. (eww orange stuff, i hate it)
    .
    .
Oil Filter Adapter - see below....

    Superchager -
[X] order some parts - insert thing and some PAG, stinky oil
    20190127_110012.jpg

    Wiring Harness - (see pic)
Stip out unneeded wires and sensors that will not be use.
Move the VSS towards the transmission stuff. Much better for a RWD vs a FWD
Move the batter cable out to a much better spot.
Inspect it and re-wrap it. Cause I easily can test each wire to it known spot, (Its almost 20 years old)

    2) 4L60e Transmission
    60 deg pattern,
    I4/V6 come this way, more/less
plus a like the transmission come in 3 parts now, the front part is 9-3/8" for I4/v6 and v8. (checked myself)
    Converter - 27 spline
2000-ish Stock Camaro 3800, converter, stall is ~1800 rpm,
    GM58CHD Diameter 10.375 pilot +1.5 spline 27, BC 9.875, Medium 1800-2000 Stall,
[A Torque Conv./iso valve, has been install/trans guy]
    .
On the rear end of it, go with the adapter from Advance Adapters,
Chase is a great guy, [insert web link here], I have know him, when he was out of a 2 car garage.
The 4L60e, the rear adapter come with a 300m shaft for the tranny that has to go in, during the rebuild.
    It is 23 spline output the mat(jeep) [i had 27 spline ]
shorten to ~2" past the rear flange (?), and it has a VSS on it to.
[insert guy/gal who rebuild my trans]

notice the pulley for blower is considerably smaller, blower is quite over driven, 15-18psi boost under full throttle (meth/water injection as well). motor is bone stock otherwise, it’s in a mud racing truck, so it only sees about 20-30seconds of full throttle at a time, the 3.8 is a tough engine to beat on. it’s also got a NOS fog system on it that was in process of being dialed in at the time the pic was taken. 376EE47C-3E62-4737-B933-393821095BEC.jpeg

Nice Mike! If the motor came from ECGS then it was the one @stinkbomb had. He bought it from @Blaze iirc.

Stock, I not going to do anything to it.
I think it makes a ton of torque /hp
Just clean it up a little,
help it breath, dump the EGR etc.
    240hp/280 torque

    4) PCM Wiring and Bench Harness
The farther I go, the less i see anyone doing this on the 3800
So i see little teed-bit here and there so im going to put thing here as i read them or deduce them.
Many sites that have information is gone,
this stuff is not rocket science but 10 years later, you still need something to go on.
This may appear that i just did this, when in reality it just me posting it.
    1. Re-pin or take out, my harness.
Done, Not hard, just time consuming.
I found an older 3800 stuff be a Fiero guy for a SC
and his was 99% dead on for my 2000 Pontiac wiring harness.
    (GM Wiring Diagrams and Pinouts)
I also found a Camaro wiring harness it was 60% on,
    2. Bench Harness
After a trip to LKQ with some PCM harness clip, empty them of all wires, much easier to start with.
V8 guys/gals you all set with 100s of videos depicting how to do it.
    3800 not so much......
3800 uses the same PCM as V8 do, but they are pinned 80% different, (thumb in the air, measurement)
I only had to use the BLUE connector that plug into the PCM
Here are the PINs i used.
    PCM C1 BLUE Connector
    15- TAN, Serial Data (UART)
    16- BLK, PCM Ground
    19- PNK, Ignition Voltage
    20- ORN, Battery Voltage
    56- BLK, PCM Ground
    57- BLK, PCM Ground
59- PPL, Class 2 Serial Data
    60- BLK, PCM Ground

ahhh ain't nothing.... i had hip hip 'worked' on when i was 18, broke my hip and repositing them, in the socket, plates/pins (those came out)
Doc said running it, till ya can't (my words), i had a left hip replacement done in September, it was hurting more than my right....
The right side would probably hurt more, but i don't fell much due to the stroke, 50-60%,
oh well, this is good, been looking forward to it in sometime.......

Drill out the 8 bolts the hold the flex plate on.
Drill to M10x1.25 (not the 1.0)
I do not know who made them 5/16, it was a good idea on paper but......
    .
Shows the difference between 5/16 and the M10
    20190528_142911.jpg
    .
All went well and I double the torque setting from about 25 to 50ft/lb
    Yes i chose to go with a 10.9 rating vs a 12.?
The difference was negligible. ~10lb torque.
Its like using a grade 9 vs a grade 8
    .
All in all, I would have just order the flex plate from a normal parts place.
Stay away from RockAuto when it come to these parts....
I had to take my screw driver and hammer and remove gobs
of mis-starts, buggers and balls of shit... A tell tail of a newbie welder....
