Last Work Day of 2010, Aftermath, Pictures, Stories

It has been an interesting year for the volunteer group on here. And now we have wrapped up the final run of the year, which of course was a work day. We got a Bobcat stuck, worked/rode the trails in the sleet/snow, and got a good amount of guard railing put in record time thanks to working with the CNC4X4 guys. 2 pieces of equipment with Augers going full force, and we still could of put up more guard rail.

Our group and the CNC4X4 group missed the Appreciation Dinner, but what was left of our group still had a good time eating dinner at the Outpost. For that matter Terry Savery and some of the Forest Service missed the dinner too. But we made the best of it, had a blast, and I can't wait till next year. I know there are plenty of videos/pictures to go up with some interesting stories to go with them!

note for the first video...i might sound sarcastic, but it really was a great day. disappointing that conditions wouldn't let us get more done.....but that just means the word day in February...we'll really hunker down and get double the work done

I found a bucket of bolts in the bed of the truck this morning. It's the carriage bolts and nuts for the guard rails. I'm assuming these belong to the FS....?

I took a few pictures with my cell phone.

Our group placed a couple truck-loads of straw bales in the run-offs and replaced some signage that was broken or stolen.

I noticed that the windshield was broken on the yellow/black stretched YJ. I think he was in the group that was cutting trees. Did that happen on Sat?

Yep, sorry about that. I dropped them in the back thinking we'd run into Terry at Kings Mtn Point. Forgot all about them.
