FJ40 buggy

Nice job RK.. but what happened to your gas pedal?

Next up.. ditch the Rancho's :)

Thanks! The gas pedal is there, it's just hidden by the brake pedal. You can see part of it in the passenger side view.

I haven't decided what to do (if anything) to the front shocks yet.

Getting close to being finished...

Thanks. Send Rockmafia (Jim) a PM about the cage, he did my tube work.

Hell yeah man..

That battery isn't as close to the outside of the tube as it looks, right? Hate to see you rip off the terminals on the rocks..

Nah, the top of the battery is 6" inside the slider tube.

After some breakage issues with my rear axle, I decided to upgrade to 1 tons. I picked up a Dana 60 and 14 bolt for my rig.

I shaved the bottom of the 14 bolt and cut the old spring perches, shock mounts, etc off. Then I took it to PJ (mpistolpj) at M&M Off-Road for a truss to mount my current links to.

PJ did an awesome job on the truss for the 14 bolt! He also outboarded my front springs so the Dana 60 would fit.

I'm going to run Ballistic Fab high steer that I got from Alex at Carolina Truggies. I got all of my axle upgrade parts from Chase (cperry) at East Coast Gear. He hooked me up with Yukon shafts, 300M u-joints, drive flanges, a LockRight, and a 1350 yoke for the Dana 60 and a 1410 yoke for the 14 bolt.

Here is how it sits now. I still have to redo the steering, driveshafts, brake lines, and build the axles.

Looking good RK! Glad you got everything figured out. I love a backhalfed cruiser on tons.

Very nice.. now you can give some love to the loud pedal!

Here are some pics of the rig with the 1 ton axle swap completed. Leaving tomorrow to test it out.
