A friend has a late 80s 2500 suburban. He said it was a diesel with a TH400. I'm not very familiar with these vehicles, but it seems as though the rear axle is a 14 bolt based on the picture, but it's hard to tell. Would the front axle be an 8 lug D44? I've had a time trying to get pics of it since it's not at his place, but here's what I got so far.

8 lug D44 all day long. The smaller hub diameter itself is a giveaway.

@rockmafia true that’s an oversight on my part, splitting frog hairs though unless a ring and pinion change is needed > all the other parts should be the same.

Thanks, I was hoping there would be a D60 buried under there but knew that was not likely.

1976 was the change over year to the AAM made GM 10 bolt front axle. About the only common parts are the outer stub shafts and the knuckles with the Dana 44.
