07 JK D44 4:10 factory gears. What would cause the spider gears to chip the tops of them off? Will be ok to drive til I can find a new set? Anyone have a set laying around? Thanks

It is open. I just went ahead an ordered a new set from ECGS. Not my Jeep or I would have went with used set. Thanks Jody.

I am not sure why, but they are not uncommon from what I have read. What is worse it I could not get replacement trac loc spiders according to ECGS. You have to buy the whole housing. If you want to go with a standard open set, they have to use an old style case, with old style spiders and re-drill it to 1/2 bolt size. This has turned out to be a pain in the ass when I though it was going to be a couple hour swap out. Should of known better.... next time I will look for a used take out.

My brothers ‘11 has been through two sets. Fixed it this time with an E locker.
