So my wife and I both have the iPhone 6. We have had these phones going on 4 years now and they are starting to crap out. We are currently with Verizon, but honestly, right in our neighborhood, the service is terrible. We both are basically want to upgrade to the iPhone X but it seems everywhere we look, its gonna cost us an arm and a leg to upgrade, so thats why we haven't done anything yet.

Anyone know anyone or a good deal? Sprint seems to have the best deal, with getting an iphone x for $20 a month, but when I went in to talk to the guy at my local store, he could care less if I bought from them or not and basically told us that our bill be "alot more" than it would be with Verizon...

Looking for some guidance.

Buy the cheapest phone you can get. You can probably get an older iPhone for free by doing a 2yr contract.

Like Shawn said. Don’t play keeping up with the Jones or what’s trendy. Go in to Verizon say what can you drop my bill to if I sign up for two years and what phone can I get for free. Put the extra cash you just saved in an account and take a vacation or add it to your kids college fund

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, "JUST SAY NO" TO SPRINT!

I had Verizon and was pretty happy with my service, except it was expensive and dropped calls when I was at home enough to be annoying. I switched to Sprint to get the lower bill. The good news, it works better at my house. The bad news, it doesn't work ANYWHERE else. Call coverage is decent but data is the worst. My buddy who still has Verizon always has to make me a hotspot to piggyback off his service.

I am just sort of at a crossroads right now. I'd like to upgrade if it wasn't going to be expensive. its actually cheaper to get the iPhone X than it is to get a iPhone 7 or 8.

I still have a Samsung S4 and refuse to get rid of it. I've had it since the week after they came out.

I had an s5 until almost a year ago. I had to install some software for work and it really bogged it down so I switched to the s8 and to Sprint at the same time. Love the s8.

Meh. Searching for gay albino midget porn on yer phone is a bad idea in my opinion.
The NSA "overlords" are watching you and enjoying the new fetish.
That's what a laptop is for you fools.
I use a Iphone-8 on Sprint. Works for me.
Unlimited everything for $134 a month.

iPhone 7 CPO is $17/mo at Verizon. The X is $42/mo.

If you wait around for a sale, you can probably get the 6 or 7 for free, or get a BOGO deal.

Werent you just complaining about how expensive daycare was, and about how you couldn't afford to live on one salary?

I just talked to Verizon yesterday, & they told me they Don't do Contracts, anymore! I'm still with a 3 yo android. They just switched my talk/text @ 1 gb-unlimited, to talk/text @5 gb-unlimited, at the same price. $74/mo.

Damn choke slam to the ground. Ric Flair would be proud!
Brutal, yet accurate.

45/mo vzw 3gb hispeed, unlimited low speed, unlimited calling
$45 Dolgen phone. Works good but the owner kills a phone a month almost.. people need not hang around the shop, distracts me and stupid stuff happens, like shutting my phone in the hood hinge.

Sure was!
Wifey's phone is on the verge of being fcked, so I am just trying to figure out if there any are good deals to be had, hence why I posted this asking. If I can get us two new phones for $20 more a month that what we are paying now, I think I can swing that.

and FYI, In the last year, we have sacrificed and saved so that we would be ok while my wife is on maternity leave. I appreciate the concern though.

and your prices that you quoted are indeed from Verizon, but I was inquiring if any other companies are worth going with.

Anything made by Apple is seriously over priced. Samsung makes the best phones you can buy.

Forget buying phones new at full retail price from a company.
I've had very good luck digging around on CL and finding a slightly used 6-9 month old model way cheaper.
Bought my wife's and my current phones, S7s, this way, no problem. I think I paid $250 cash for my S7 when it was ~9 months after release. In that case, it was a dumbass girl who'd gotten it under an upgrade deal, then decided to change carriers and getting a different phone so she wanted cash. My wife's came from a guy who'd had an insurance plan, his phone was stolen, got a replacement from insurance, then the phone was actually recovered by the cops. Yeah, the rare time that actually happened.
We bought our son's S6 on eBay for like $150 as a refurb w/ warranty.
If you just think of the phone and the service and two independent transactions, in the long run it can be cheaper. People sell 'em pretty cheap sometimes.

How are your iPhones almost ruined? Battery life? Slow?

I recommend “cleaning” it by removing all the useless apps and games, moving photos to a host app, and staying up to date on updates. Eventually you will want to stop updating your phone but you should be good for another two years from my experience.

I had an iPhone 4 for a long time. Just got an iPhone S which came out when the 6 did. Paid $500 for it from Verizon. I ponied up for one with 128GB of memory. Works just as good as any latest iPhone I have used.

Treat it as a phone and it will last, treat it as the center of your life constantly on social media, streaming movies, etc. and it performance will decay. My two cents.

Also if someone says apple is over priced, a competing Samsung costs just as much.

Nope, an android phone (samsung) has a faster processer, more ram, larger amount of storage, better screen, and so much more than a comparable iphone.

Almost a year ago Sprint was offering a year of free service so I switched from AT&T. The service has been good in major cities for travel and good at my house but sucks in the country and slow as heck or non-existent service in many places where my Verizon work phone has no issues. I've enjoyed having no cell phone bill for the past year but will not be staying with Sprint after July. If comparing the full price service plans I'd rather pay more and go to AT&T or Verizon.

Ive been with Tmobile for several years. I started on a prepaid phone and after 5 years, they called and talked me into getting an actual plan. I got an S4 when they came out for $15/month. When I added my wife to my plan last spring We got deals on S7s. I dont really play the game of staying up with the latest and greatest. I really just wanted to keep my old S4, it worked fine for 2facebook and spotify, called and texted fine. But I figured why not just try it. I like my S7 and will likely keep it until it finally just short circuits from being flung across the shop.

Ill never own another Apple product. Ive hated every one Ive tried.
