i guess i shouldve stopped by sun. I was out at dads about all day. we couldve tested out in the field

Looks like you got your project done before mine, lol. But I have some updates coming in the next month or 2 been working on the sami and getting closer to being done, hopefully we can wheel with y'all again this spring. Jeep is looking good by the way, now that you have it done and its winter you got any other plans for it?

Well its been a while since I updated my build. Its tough to get time to do all you want to do now a days. I try to make two to three weekend long trips out in the jeep annually just so that I don't lose touch with what it needs. That being said, I finally got around to getting a winch and mounting it up to finish off the front end I built a year ago. I have also encountered issues with my shock set up in the rear, so addressed that this weekend, pictures coming as soon as I figure out how to get them off my iphone.

Here are some pictures of my shock out boarding project this weekend.

I drew up some designs for some recessed shock mounts based on some I found online. I contact Mud at www.MudProMetalworks.com to cut out and bend up my design. As always he exceeded my expectations. Mud is located in Hickory NC and is a prefect source for your tabs, brackets and customer designed parts. Check out his site.

First i measured and cut out the frame rail.

This is what it looked like, there was a lot of eye balling and measuring, but I got it. I cut it out with a grinder and cut off wheel.

I had to prep the axle for the bracket, I went ahead and cut off my old brackets.

Here is a picture of the mount mocked up in the cut out. You can start to see my plan.

My fit looked good so I went ahead tacked it in place as well as the axle bracket to see how the shock looked in place.

Alignment looked well and it cycled up and down with out issue. So I burned it in. I incorperated a couple gussets to support the load on the frame.

Primed and painted everything.

Going to test it later, still got to mount the gas tank back in and clean it up. But it was a good weekend.

Da Hell, Are you a ghost?

Got the jeep put back together yesterday. Filled it with antifreeze and before I turned it over it started dripping from behind the pulleys on the front of the engine. I assume the water pump seal blew out when radiator blew. At least I hope. Gonna tear it down and replace the water pump.
