AW4 from a 2wd XJ

    Looking for a good AW4 transmission from a 2wd XJ.

    FYI a 4wd tranny would work you’d just need to change the tail shaft.

    which involves entirely disassembling the trans. Little more than "just" change the output shaft & rear housing..

    I've got a 4wd aw4 sitting here, I'd rather not go thru the trouble of swapping the tailshaft.

    I've had a few 2wd aw4's thru the years from parting out XJ's, never needed one before so I always ended up giving them away. Now that I could use one for a project, I can't find one.

    Ain’t that the worst? I hold on to junk for ever and finally decide to throw it away or whatever wand wind up needing it a month later.

    isn't that just always how it goes? Seems to be the same way for me.
