Anyone with a trail bike or quad can race at Antioch Speedway this weekend as trail bike and quad racers from all over the south east are preparing to take on some of the best hare scramble racers from all over the world at the Mid East Hare Scramble at Antioch Speedway in Morganton, NC this Saturday. Hare Scramble racers from as far away as Japan and Australia as well as many of the best racers that the United States has to offer have shown up at past Easter weekend events at Antioch Speedway. And, Carolina racers usually place very well against these top race teams from throughout the world. The annual Easter weekend Mid East Hare Scramble has featured over 500 racers at the speedway each year.

Hare scramble racing is where trail bikes and quads race anywhere from a 6 to 10 mile course along natural terrain for anywhere from 30 minute to 120 minute intervals depending on their division. Antioch Speedway features a 7 mile course which includes racing on the speedway, in the fields and throughout the woods on the 90 acre property. And, the Mid East racing series is a good group for anyone who has a trail bike or quad to come race with. They feature divisions from first time, amateur racers all the way up to the male - female pro divisions. They even have Pee Wee Kids divisions for kids to race in. Antioch Speedway is also one of the most beginner friendly courses on the schedule each year because of its open field and track racing on about half of the course. It is also one of the most spectator friendly courses on the schedule as spectators can see about half of the course from the grandstands of the speedway.

Anyone with a motorcycle or quad is invited to come race with the series this Saturday, April 15th. There are no memberships required to race. Racers just have to have the appropriate safety gear, and pay the entry fees by division to be able to race. Details about the racing requirements can be found at mideastracing.com or by calling 704-477-3375.

Kids divisions will start racing at 8am, and adults will begin racing at 11:30am. Racing will conclude at 5pm. There is a $10.00 admission fee to watch the races and camping is optional and free with admission Friday and Saturday night. Antioch Speedway is located at 2850 Race Track Street, Morganton, NC 28655, and the speedway hotline is 828-394-9097.

Stock Car racing will return to the Talladega of Dirt next Saturday, April 22nd as the Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Models make their first appearance of the 2017 race season along with the regular divisions that race at the speedway each week. For more information please visit www.antiochspeedway.net
